Mosaic installation instructions

  1. Select area to install mosaic
  2. Position the mosaic in the selected area, then trace it with a black marker, remove mosaic and cut marked tile area with a Makita grinder or equivalent grinder, using a dry diamond blade. expect a lot of dust, to minimize the amount of dust position a shop-vac or vacuum cleaner near the cutting blade you'll need someone to help you hold vacuum
  3. Once tile had been cut and debris and dust are removed, proceed with the installation, spread thin-set with a minimum notch trowel of 3/8".
  4. Now you ready to install the mosaic, first remove plastic backing of the mosaic (not the mesh), also trim excess mesh around the mosaic if any, then between 2 persons holding each side, slowly slide the mosaic to the opening, do not lift mosaic by the corners by doing so chances are mosaic pieces may shatter.
  5. Once it's set in the opening tap mosaic slightly with a rubber grout float to flatten, then with a piece of 2x4", set the wood on top of the mosaic and tap with a rubber mallets to flatten more and leveled with the existing tile, slowly pass the palm of your hand over the mosaic, if you feel any bump or high spot slightly tap the area with the rubber mallets, repeat this until all pieces are flat. please take your time and be patience on this process, a sucessful installation depend on this process. Once you finish protect area.
  6. after 24 hour you can grout the mosaic, if is broken pieces mosaic or more than 1/8" grout spaces use Sanded Grout, if it's less that a 1/8" grout spaces use Unsanded grout.

Note: Once the mosaic had been installed protect area around mosaic so nobody will walk on it while is wet.
